Become a Volunteer: Sail, Work, and Experience!

Have you always dreamed of sailing on a beautiful wooden two-masted gaff schooner or helping restore it during the winter months?

At our organization, VZW De Rupel, you can make that adventure a reality! Whether you're an experienced sailor, handy with tools, or simply curious about life on the water, there’s always room for enthusiastic volunteers eager to contribute to this unique project.

Sail Along: Actively Participate During Our Voyages

During the summer months, you can join as a volunteer and contribute to our voyages, beyond the annual Tall Ships Races. If you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, you can help with the daily activities on board:

Winter Work: Care for the Ship During the Winter Break

In winter, the ship is not sailing, but that means plenty of work is done on maintenance and any necessary repairs. As a volunteer, you can help prepare the ship for the new season. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about ship maintenance and repairs.

Why Become a Volunteer?

As a volunteer, you'll have the opportunity to learn new skills, such as sailing, woodworking, and ship maintenance. You’ll become part of a close-knit community and contribute to the preservation of this beautiful ship. Whether you're sailing along during the summer voyages or helping with maintenance in the winter, your assistance makes a big difference.

Who is Volunteer Work Suitable For?

Anyone with a passion for sailing, ships, and the water is welcome. Whether you're young or old, experienced or a beginner — there's always work that matches your skills. You can decide how much time you want to invest: from a few days to an entire season.
