The story of
T/S Rupel began in the nineties
Unemployment in the Rupel region then sharply rises. Numerous shipbuilders are facing layoffs.
The VDAB is convinced of their determination and craftsmanship and comes to their aid. Together with the V.Z.W. Steenschuit, they initiate a unique project. For five years, job seekers from across Flanders roll up their sleeves. The result is astounding.
